FROM THE EXPERTS

  • Dr. Aaron Horschig

This training log is pure GOLD as a weightlifting training reference.

This resource is simply AMAZING! I've never seen such a well documented training program that features every little detail (from working sets to accessory lifts and recovery methods) not only in written but video form.

  • Greg Everett

Valuable addition to the library of any coach or lifter

This is a unique and unusually in-depth look at the actual training of one of the best weightlifters in the world—not just bits and pieces you’re left to try to sort into something useful, but the entire picture.

  • Tripp Morris

A Resource for More Effective Training

Team RUSLAN’s approach to training is smart and clearly effective for the athlete. Keeping track of what was done, documenting it, then analyzing it is the only way to know where you have been and where you are going in your training and Ruslan’s Team has done this well. The Torokhtiy Weightlifting Team has also done their part in clearly communicating all of the data very concisely allowing the user to “thumb through” the information or “deep dive” into the data. This is an excellent resource for those looking for insights that could influence their programming to be more effective.

An In-Depth Look at Elite Preparation

It is rare to gain a glimpse into the comprehensive training plan of an athlete preparing for a major competition. Due to the competitive nature of sports, coaches often conceal the entire training process to avoid providing an advantage to other coaches and athletes. This training log offers an in-depth look at the preparation of an elite weightlifter from start to finish.

The structure of this plan is well-designed and thorough. The beginning provides good detail on calculations and how to read the training log. Since non-experts may view this, it was critical to set up the rest of the log. The inclusion of videos for all exercises and attempts is refreshing, as different practitioners often misinterpret many exercises. The final section outlining why different aspects are essential for analysis is key for this training log. Presenting the data is great, but providing an explanation at the end takes it from simply a training log to an educational journey for the audience.

Overall, I am impressed with this presentation of the material. If these become available for other athletes in the future, I would review them with interest.

  • Joshua Gibson

    12 weeks of unmatched details

The level of detail, from exact reps and exercises to the distribution of lifts across the entire 12 weeks, is unmatched. And as always, the quality of the editing, structure, and flow of the book is second to none, making it easy to read and interpret. As a coach who has been working with local-level, national, and international caliber athletes for nearly a decade, there are plenty of great training ideas I can apply immediately to my own coaching process. I found the video integration helpful for understanding each exercise and its purpose, alongside the explanations laid out in the open paragraphs. The section on training statistics tied the book together, making it more obvious why the training is broken up the way it is. I never thought I'd be able to learn so much from Ruslan, but I guess Torokhtiy Weightlifting proved me wrong.

  • Anton Pliesnoi

Training system built on scientific principles of progressive overload

Each week is clearly structured and logically organized, allowing you to track progress and understand how and why certain changes occur throughout the process.

A major strength of the program is the detailed explanation provided for every stage — the author doesn’t just list exercises but clarifies their purpose, biomechanics, and role within the overall structure. This approach encourages conscious training, helping you understand the intent behind each session and adapt the workload to your individual needs.

The inclusion of a wide variety of accessory exercises makes the program comprehensive and well-balanced: it develops not only major muscle groups but also stabilizers and movement control. This creates a solid physical foundation and helps reduce the risk of injury.

The logic behind the microcycle design also deserves attention — a gradual increase in intensity and a well-balanced alternation of loading and recovery phases ensure steady progress without overtraining.

Overall, the program stands out as a professionally designed, in-depth, and methodologically sound tool for systematic self-improvement. It not only delivers results but also teaches the principles of effective training, fostering a deeper understanding of the processes that drive progress.
