Welcome to OLY SET
Three Cycles. One System. One Total.
There are two types of weightlifters. The first type trains the lifts together all the time. The second type understands that sometimes you must separate them in order to improve them.
The OLY SET bundle is built for the second type.
It combines three independent 5-week cycles:
- Snatch Cycle
- Clean Cycle
- Jerk Cycle
Each one isolates a lift and rebuilds it from its foundation. When you complete all three, you don’t just improve technique. You restructure your total.
SNATCH CYCLE - Rebuilding Precision and Confidence
The Snatch Cycle runs for 5 weeks, 5 sessions per week .
The goal is clear - increase your result in the snatch.
But that’s not done by simply snatching heavier weights every week.
The cycle increases exposure to:
- Snatch from blocks
- Hang snatch
- Deficit snatch
- Snatch balance
- Snatch pulls
- Power snatch combinations
You attack positions, timing, stability. Volume is high. Intensity sits above average. That means you are under fatigue frequently. And this is intentional, because the snatch is not missed only due to strength.
It is missed due to:
- Instability in bottom
- Rushing the second pull
- Poor overhead confidence
- Weak posterior chain
This cycle exposes those weaknesses repeatedly.
It also integrates: back squats, snatch presses, auxiliary posterior chain work
This is not a peaking cycle. It is a structural cycle. After completion, the program allows for an optional maxout session to test progress.
If you execute properly, you’ll notice:
- Better bar path
- More secure overhead
- Stronger catch position
Reduced fear under heavy attempts
And perhaps most important - you start trusting your snatch again.
CLEAN CYCLE - Building Strength Where It Actually Matters
The Clean Cycle follows the same 5-week structure with 5 sessions per week.
Its objective is to increase your clean result, but cleans are rarely limited by technique alone.
They are limited by:
- Leg strength
- Front rack mobility
- Upper back stability
- Timing under load
This cycle is demanding: volume is high, intensity is above average .
It integrates:
- Hang cleans
- Block cleans
- Clean pulls
- Front squats
- Back squats
- Mobility preparation
There is structured stress and structured overload. There is a front squat progression built into the weeks.
The Clean Cycle does something important: it forces you to sit with heavy weight in the rack repeatedly.
You stop avoiding difficult rack positions.
You stop collapsing at the bottom.
You learn to stand up under pressure.
The program notes clearly that recovery, nutrition and sleep directly affect results. That’s not decoration - it’s reality. If you respect the process: your pull becomes stronger, turnover sharper, front squat stable. Heavy cleans stop feeling chaotic.
JERK CYCLE - Turning Strength Into Locked Weight
The jerk is often the weakest lift for intermediate athletes. Not because they are weak, but because they lack precision.
The Jerk Cycle isolates:
- Dip control
- Vertical drive
- Split positioning
- Overhead lockout strength
Like the other two cycles, it spans 5 structured weeks.
You’ll work through:
- Power jerks
- Split jerks
- Jerk from racks
- Push presses
- Strict presses
- Front Rack supports
The jerk is about force transfer.
If dip shifts forward, if drive is soft, if lockout is unstable - you miss. This cycle removes those inconsistencies. You rehearse dip mechanics, reinforce overhead stability, strengthen triceps and shoulders. You build confidence by receiving maximal loads overhead. By the end of this block, the jerk feels controlled: not rushed, not panicked, deliberate.
Why The Bundle Changes the Outcome
Now let’s talk about why this is a bundle and not three random programs. Most athletes plateau because they try to improve everything at once. Snatch, clean, jerk, squats, pulls - all in equal emphasis. But Olympic lifting does not reward equal focus, it rewards deliberate focus.
With the OLY SET you can structure 15 weeks like this:
Weeks 1–5 → Snatch focus
Weeks 6–10 → Clean focus
Weeks 11–15 → Jerk focus
During the snatch block, you maintain clean & jerk exposure but snatch dominates. During the clean block, leg and pull strength develop aggressively. During the jerk block, overhead confidence peaks.
Instead of spreading adaptation thin - you concentrate it. That’s how real progress happens.
Long-Term Development Logic
When you finish all three cycles, something changes. Your weaknesses are no longer random. They are exposed and addressed.
You begin to see patterns:
- My snatch misses were positional, not strength.
- My clean problems were front squat related.
- My jerk instability came from dip mechanics.
And because the cycles share similar structural principles - warm-up requirements, technical focus, mobility responsibility, you stay within one system. Not three different philosophies - one system, that matters.
Who This Bundle Is Really For
This is for:
- Athletes training 4–5 days per week
- Lifters preparing for future competition
- Intermediate lifters stuck at plateau
- Coaches who want structured cycle rotation
- Serious amateurs who want systematic progress
It is not casual programming, it demands commitment, it demands recovery discipline. But if you give that - it gives back.
Coaching Perspective
As a coach, I look at this bundle and see:
- Structured microcycles
- Clear intensity waves
- High technical density
- Squat integration supporting Olympic lifts
- Progressive overload without chaos
It’s not sexy programming, it’s intelligent programming. And intelligent programming builds totals.
There is a difference between: doing weightlifting and developing your snatch, your clean and your jerk. The OLY SET allows you to develop them individually, so that together they become stronger. Three cycles, fifteen weeks focused stress, technical density.
If you approach it responsibly with sleep, nutrition and recovery respected as emphasized inside the programs, your total will not stay the same. Train with intention.
